I think quarantine is providing us new insights into how much social interaction we think we need versus how much we actually need. Extroverts are perhaps discovering an inner calm that can be found with extended alone time. And maybe Introverts are realizing there is such a thing as too much seclusion. And many of us (me!) are roller-coastering between the two feelings. It is Week 4 of quarantine for many of us after all. But maybe some interesting self-discovery will bubble to the surface through this.

It all kind of got me thinking about how we’re all trying to stay connected to one another. We’ve been busy Zooming with classmates, House Partying with friends, and Google Hangout-ing (Google Hanging-out?) with family. But I’ve also noticed a trend going on all over the world where people are finding ways to connect outside of technology. The birthday parades, notes left in chalk on sidewalks, good old-fashioned letters and packages, window art scavenger hunts, front porch workouts, tutoring sessions through a glass door, even music concerts played from balconies. It’s like we all need reassurance from time to time that the world still exists outside our front door.
