LEARNING, CONNECTING, & BELONGING

At RAS, after school is a meaningful extension of the school day — not just an afterthought. While many programs offer a safe place to play, RAS goes further by combining high-quality academic enrichment, active play, and social skill-building — all in a nurturing environment where your child will thrive

Daily Play-Based Learning Activities Help Your Child Grow & Thrive

When the school bell rings, it’s time for a whole different kind of afternoon. With 19 different expertly-designed curriculum journeys packed with games, crafts, STEM challenges, and much more–your kids will never do the same thing after school twice!

Check out just a handful of the hundreds of daily activities in RAS:

Painting Polar Pals

Let’s get messy to make a polar painting! We’re concocting our own paint and using it to create our own polar bears!

Durable Skills

Students will explore their sense of touch and smell, while using art techniques with new materials.

Fascinating Fossils

Paleontologists use fossils to know dinosaurs they looked like, what they ate, and what their lives were like. We’re going to make our own fossils using found objects and Play-Dough!

Durable Skills

Kids will express their creativity and use fine motor skills as they explore the concepts of fossils.

Ships Ahoy!

Wet and wacky times ahead! Let’s learn what materials are best for making a boat and build a seaworthy vessel!

Durable Skills

Students will explore buoyancy through hands-on experimentation

Super Self!

Think of your FAVORITE superhero. What are they like? What are their powers? We are going to use these inspirational images to draw ourselves as superheroes and imagine our very OWN superpowers!

Durable Skills

Students will exercise creativity as they use their imagination to design their own character.

Zoom to the Moon

Welcome to RASSA, the Right At School Space Academy! We’re going to do an experiment to try to figure out how the surface of the moon got cratered!

Durable Skills

Students will engage with the concept of craters and use fine motor skills by creating their own.

Your Kid’s Day at Right Club!

Kids spend up to 20 hours a week in our programs—let us walk you through all the ways your child will learn, play and grow in a typical day with RAS. See a more detailed version of the daily schedule here.

Sample Schedule

*Daily Schedule varies by location.

Check-in & Attendance

We start by taking attendance and making sure that every child on the roster for that day is accounted for. A team member will lead the kids in a quick warm-up game while we wait for everyone to arrive.

We start every afternoon with a Town Hall, where we get kids excited about the activities ahead, do a community-building activity, celebrate birthdays, and shout out students for big wins (like Sammy acing his spelling test!)… all while enjoying a healthy snack!

We run, jump, stretch, and dance to “get the wiggles out” before putting our brains to work!

All RAS kiddos will spend ten minutes each day learning a second language. PreK–First Graders will learn the Spanish words for shapes, colors, numbers, and more, while our older students will learn American Sign Language (ASL)!

Shhhh! Don’t tell the kids they’re learning! Our hands-on enrichment activities range from silly science experiments to feats of toothpick engineering, globe-trotting adventures, songwriting competitions, and beyond. Hidden in each Disguised Learning® activity is a deeply thoughtful lesson plan with learning objectives tied to state and national standards… but kids just know that they’re having a blast!

Red rover, red rover, send Elsa right over! In the gym, on the playground, rain or shine, we’ll get our muscles moving to classic schoolyard games or sports like kickball and soccer.

We end every day with options! Board games, arts and crafts, collaborative group projects, quiet reading, free play with friends, and more.

All the best days come to a close. We hope that by the time you arrive, you’ll have a happy, engaged, perhaps even tuckered out kiddo to enjoy a relaxing evening at home as a family.

Your Child’s Safety Is Our Top Priority

As parents, we know that decisions about our children’s care and safety should never be taken lightly — and it’s our job to be transparent about how we’re keeping your kids safe. Here are just a few of our non-negotiable safety practices:

Thoroughly Qualified Staff

All RAS staff members are subject to thorough state and federal background checks. They are also certified in CPR and first aid, meet or exceed state-required education, experience, and credentials, and undergo a comprehensive training program.

Pin Code Verification

After signing up for programs, you (and the people you designate as authorized pickups) will be issued a unique PIN code, which must be presented every time you drop off or pick up your child — no exceptions.

Check-in & Attendance

Each day, RAS staff will have an up-to-date roster of children expected in the program. We start taking attendance right after the school bell rings. If a child on the roster doesn’t check in within 10 minutes, we immediately initiate our rapid “missing child” protocol, which involves calling you, your emergency contacts, the school office, and ultimately the police if we cannot determine your child’s whereabouts.

Name to Face Transitions

Any time we transition from one space to another (for example, a classroom to the playground), we take attendance again, ensuring that our educators hear and see every child assigned to their group that day.

Regular Joy & Safety Audits

At least once per month, a RAS Area Manager will visit each program site to conduct a “Joy and Safety Audit” — our internal quality control evaluation to ensure staff are 100% in compliance with our policies and are delivering the most enjoyable, enriching experience for your kids.

Injury & Illness

Student injuries and illnesses are handled with the utmost care. In the case of injury, staff are first-aid certified and keep a first aid kit close by at all times. Children who become ill during program are quarantined and their symptoms are addressed until their guardian can arrive. Every incident is documented promptly and reported to the child’s guardians.
