Tue	The Wizard of OZ: By Corella Productions	Please note this is not an acting class, but a comprehensive performance program that culminates that runs all year, in a Broadway-style production of The Wizard of Oz! Corella Productions is a female-owned, family-run organization providing high-quality after-school performing arts education throughout the Chicagoland area and Northwestern Pennsylvania. Now celebrating 25 years of service, Corella Productions is proud to be the longest-running after-school theatre program within Chicago Public Schools. Recognized as one of the nation's premier youth theatre programs, Corella Productions has transformed the lives of thousands of children through the performing arts. Founded on the principles of love, respect, and acceptance, our programs foster creativity, confidence, discipline, self-expression, and personal growth in a supportive and inclusive environment. We believe every child deserves the opportunity to discover their unique talents, find their voice, and experience the joy of belonging. This year-long performance program provides comprehensive training in acting, singing, and dance while preparing students for a fully staged musical theatre production. Students will rehearse weekly throughout the entire school year as they learn and develop all aspects of The Wizard of Oz. Enrollment in this program is a commitment to the entire school year and production. Tuition is paid in three installments: Fall, Winter, and Spring. The program concludes with performances of The Wizard of Oz at the Ruth Page Center for the Arts (1026 N. Dearborn Street, Chicago) on May 14-16, 2027. Tickets will need to be purchased for the production by parents. Tickets are $40. This is the only RAS program offered as a year-long commitment and provides significantly more instructional time than any other program offered. Students receive more than 70 hours of in-school training, plus approximately 30 additional hours of rehearsals at Ruth Page during the week of the show. While working with the newest programmable STEM robots for children that will allow kids to learn through guided play in an exploratory and encouraging workshop environment. Wed	Young Rembrandts – Drawing Champions: By Young Rembrandts - Central Chicago	Back-to-school season is bursting with creativity at YR! During this session, students will explore a fascinating world of characters, patterns, texture and vibrant color. Appetites don’t stand a chance against the realistic Pizza drawing our students will create as they focus on proportion, detail, and shading techniques. Our adorable Baby Sloth will help students practice expression and character design, while our art history portrait of Hiawatha introduces cultural appreciation and portrait composition just in time to celebrate the fall season. Wed	Pokemania: By Snapology of Chicago	In Snapology’s Pokémania program, students will explore the Pokémon world and practice their Pokémon training skills! They will create their own training gyms, unique battles, and even their very own generation of Pokémon. Your student will also explore some real-world science as they examine the habitats, characteristics, and needs of different Pokémon. Thu	Suzuki Violin: By Smiling Strings	Group violin lessons for beginners as well as those that already play in Suzuki Book 1 or 2. Taught by degreed music educators, students will learn simple rhythms and songs by rote as well as note reading as they progress. For those already in the Suzuki books, emphasis will be on tonalization and techniques necessary to progress through the repertoire. A second teacher may be brought in to accommodate more advanced students. Recitals are held twice a year. They will expand their understanding of the game, covering topics from the basics to opening theory, middle game tactics, and endgame strategies. As a result, students will also enhance their vocabulary and math skills. Research shows that students who play chess tend to perform better academically. Playing chess can increase IQ, improve memory, and promote analytical and critical thinking skills. Additionally, it teaches problem-solving, responsibility, sportsmanship, social skills, and more.
